“Something to look forward to” by Aphro McCullough

I love Christmas and all that goes with it. I love looking forward to, thinking about and planning for special occasions and I’m always ready for a celebration of some kind.
Old Testament people looked forward to the coming of the Messiah; as Christians we believe that the Messiah came as a tiny baby 2,000 years ago.

Jesus came so that we could become Kingdom people and if we are Kingdom people then anything is possible for us. Living in the Kingdom means dedicating our lives to God, it means accepting Jesus Christ as our Saviour and it means living our lives by Kingdom principles as we seek to share the Gospel of love with all with whom we come into contact.

Jesus said “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14: 2 NIV)

f we believe the promise contained in those words we really can’t lose. Jesus came to give us the hope of a full and joyful life here on earth and also to give us the hope of life in God’s Kingdom. If we live our lives in that hope then we will always have something to look forward to. Roll on Easter!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
