St Christopher’s Church supports the following organisations in prayer and financially.
The clickable title/link will take you to the relevant website for more information.
Their website will open in a new tab.
In most cases there is, or has been, a personal link between the church and a member of the organisation.
In the case of two of the Mission societies we are sadly unable to identify previous church members, as this could compromise their safety in the countries they work in.
Each month, one of the organisations has some aspect of their work described in our Newsletter and on a church noticeboard. There are also opportunities to pray together in support of their work and make a financial donation which is forwarded to them.
Arab World Ministries
One of our previous church members, who grew up in his family who were members of St Christophers, is now working in North Africa along with his wife and three young children.
Crosslinks
Another previous church member, who grew up in a St Christopher’s family, has been working since 2008 in an East Asian country.
TEARFUND
We have supported The Evangelical Alliance Relief Fund since 1967, a few years after it was founded. Again, a previous church member has worked for them in Africa.
Evangelical Alliance
We are also members of The Evangelical Alliance itself, ‘an alliance of evangelicals sharing the gospel, lifting voices of hope, and building unity’.
Christian Vision for Men
This is a small mission working in Britain seeking to bring the Gospel to men and helping them serve their role in families and christian communities.
Church Pastoral Aid Society
This Society holds the Patronage responsibility for St Christophers (and many other Anglican churches). It also provides training and teaching resources and runs residential holidays for children in school holidays.
Open Hands
A Leicester based organisation providing food bank and other services to needy people & families in the city.
51st Leicester Scouts
This is the Scout group based at St Christophers, currently providing activities for children of Cub and Scout ages.
